Hi all back in the uk after a nightmare journey which i wil post about later.
However, due to the rather nasty and violent break up of my relationship with may in Thailand, she has started to call my family on the landline during the middle of the night.
my question is this, we have tried to bar calls from thailand through Bt but they have said it will bar all mobile calls to, which we dont want. so, does anybody have any info regarding Bt and how to block Thailand as a country or indeed the prefix +66 to my families number?
any help would be appreciated as currently we are awiting some serious family news so unwanted calls during the night are not helping matters.
I used to be indecisive.....but now i'm not so sure!!!

Hi Markymac, there is a a way to block unwanted calls from a specified number call 0800 800 150 Monday to Saturday 08:00 till 20:00 this is the advice from BT phone book. David

Any fool can criticize, condemn, and complain -- and most fools do.
I dont think markymarc's Family will want to unplug their phone during nighttime if they are awaiting some serious/urgent news.
I am with NTL and I had all calls from LOS barred 2 years ago for a similar problem. Ask for a senior manager at BT, not the usual customer call centre staff and tell them its bloody urgent.
In these days of high technology, I cant see it being that hard for BT?

Maybe, or maybe not, but they might be prepared to turn their phone to "silent rings" (if the phone has that facility), so that the person at the other end thinks it is ringing, but it does not make a sound, and 1571 or whatever will kick in and pick up any message.

Longshot, but another alternative might be a new homephone with some sort of filtering facility on. Most mobiles can assign ringtones or not ring based on the number calling, must be something similar available for home too.

There used to be a service where the operator would answer all calls for you and only put people through who are on a pre decided list. I had a friend who used this once, but that was some time ago.
PS I am sorry to hear about your break up.
