Just discovered something called 'JaJah' which appears to be carving a niche in the 'free' pc to pc call market, ala Skype, but with a possible twist -

Apparently calling 'FROM' mobiles and landlines TO mobiles and landlines is also free, between registered users.

The 'call' is initiated by going to www.jajah.com , registering (once) and then typing in the recipient's email address, then clicking 'call'.

Your mobile will then ring you, with an automated voice informing you that you are connecting to the person you're calling. Seconds later, you are connected, to their mobile, from your mobile, all via JaJa.

Baht&Sold (yours truly is currently out of the country on a visa trip and found the service quite handy. Downside, sound quality and 3 second delays (at least on the few calls made). If anyone uses JaJa and would like to add any observations, please do.
