Hello all

On the first anniversary of TUK Telecom, we are pleased to announce reductions on ALL call rates to Thailand. TUK Telecom uses quality BT connections for discounted calls, using legitimate routes to Thailand and many other destinations worldwide.

TUK Telecom - a Thailand-UK.com service

Rates calling from BT landlines are as follows:

Thailand Mobile 5p/min
Thailand Bangkok 5p/min
Thailand (other) 5p/min

For connections at this rate, dial:

0844 555 0131

No pin number required.
No registration required.
No phonecard required.
No computer or software required.

NB. You MUST use the number above to obtain the 5p rate.
For non-BT phone rates, check with your telephone company before calling. Most UK landline providers will charge the same rate (5p) per minute. Calls rates and terms from mobile phones will vary.

The call rate to Laos PDR has also been reduced to 6p/minute (previously 15p/minute). Reductions to many other destinations are scheduled soon.
For further details, instructions and a full list of access numbers: CLICK HERE.

Before anyone plays the same old tune again, YES, we know others offer cheaper rates. However, the connection methods used by most of those providers mean very few can ever compete on quality and consistency. Replies mentioning alternative suppliers in this thread will be deleted, they can easily be posted in any one of the many other topics already open. You have been warned.

Big Grin Wink

Best wishes

Hi

I have put you an advert for TUK Telecom in our spring Newsletter (mainly, I have to confess, because I had a bit of space I needed to fill!)

The Newsletter is on our website, the latest edition should be there later this week.

If anybody wants to go on our mailing list to receive a hard copy please send me a PM with your address.

Wilson

Hi Roberrt

The number will appear on your phone bill as 0844 555 0131, not the Thai number, but a covering note explaining that these are low-cost calls to Thailand using the TUK Telecom service may well suffice.

We included a whole bunch of phonecards with our application in 2000, just as vague as the 0844 service but accepted just the same.

Regards

As Paul said, just write a covering letter explaining that it's a cheap rate number to phone LOS.

That's what I did & it worked for us, they can't expect you to pay 80p per minute with BT just to prove who you called, unless you're minted of course. Razzer

Actually, our first 3 months of calls & emails I didn't keep anyway, didn't know I'd need them. I wrote a note to explain this too, everything was fine.

Cheers

Just a quick post to say that the quality of connection with this service is excellent. It hurts, but my wife could be in the same room.

TUK Telecom is still providing an excellent service after almost 6 months. Through a Toucan connection down a BT line its costing me less than 4.3 p per minute.

T-UK Telecom ok for me and at the end of the day lets the wife call whenever/whatever and I have told her no problem with the 0844 555 0131 number and showed her the itemised bill

She was stunned thinking she had run up a huge bill ringing home and was worried but happy now Smiler

Update
Oh dear she has now discovered the supplier also does a number to France (where her sister is) and it appears cheaper to call LOS than France Eeker

Anyway we support T-UK Telecom as it helps the forum despite cheaper suppliers being available Thumbs Up

I have been using TUK for ages but lately I am only getting connected to the Thai number maybe a third of the time. Is anyone else having this problem. If not I must conclude that it is a problem specific to my operator or the number I am calling.

It does seem more problematic of late Richard, although I wouldn't put it anywhere near as high as a third.

If you can let me have details of the problem by PM (with the numbers dialled and an example of date and time of call) I can get someone to look in to it and resolve it. We expect you to get through first time all the time!

Havent used TUK yet but I have had problems over the last two weeks or so with all of the discount numbers I've used. Great way of meeting new friends tho - 4 different girls, 2 farangs and a fax machine so far!!

Will try TUK tomorrow.

The information I have been given is that the problem is with the Thai end. The network is looking into it and will change the carrier if matters aren't resolved pretty quickly.

If anyone using the T-UK service has difficulty with call quality or connection problems can you please let us know so that we can keep on top of it. We want you to connect first time virtually every time and of course you want to be able to hold a good conversation!

Any service quality issues please let us know - if you would PM me and I'll pass on the information for you.

Is that 5p a minute all in, or do you get charged by BT for dialling the 0844 number as well?
