Mam called today to a mobile in Surin for more than 40 minutes without problem.

Agree Voipdiscount is patchy but today was a good day.

The uncertainty is maybe the price we pay for free phone calls.

N Barton, I have got two update messages from VOIPDiscount today. I am now on version 2.10 build 335.

Maybe they realised that the one sent out earlier today needed a quick fix and thus released build 335?

Has anyone else tried their new SMS message facility? I tried it out ... worked instantly ... cost of message, to a UK mobile, was €0.05 ... roughly 3p.

We downloaded the new version without any problems, signal is still very good, although we have not tried the SMS massage facility yet, don't really need it seeing that the calls are free, this really is a great deal, we have saved so much with the free phone calls, i just hope it lasts..

Don't overlook the fact that it is not just calls to Thai phones that are free. It is also calls to UK landlines, starting 01 or 02, that are also free. But calls to UK mobiles are not free .... €0.2088 per minute.

There is the possibility that you picked up the duff version that John mentioned.

Uninstall, download and reinstall (again)?

I loaded version 210 335 also over the weekend, works a treat. Free calls now, ace.
Before, even at 1p a minute it was still costing around £5 a month in phone calls back to LOS.

Thanks for posting about it.
