Where is the best place to buy a sim card in Thailand for use during my 3 week stay? I presume it will be Pay as You Go and so how do I get top ups if I need them? How much might a sim card cost?

Thanks for your help - there were no mobile phones when I lived in LOS!!

SIM cards are exceptionally cheap now. Suggest you get 12Call cards from 7/11. You can buy for various denominations but 300, 500 should do the trick. It is all really easy so don't worry.

I always used 12call previously, but used Dtac on my last visit-it was considerably cheaper and the coverage was constant, unlike 12call which had problems between 4pm-7pm.

Used to use 12call all the time, but find D-tac or Orange alot cheaper these days and no probs with coverage, you can buy either from most phone shops/malls etc and the tops up from everywhere, 7-eleven etc etc...........Mark.

Agreed and my T Mobile switches to DTAC/Orange automatically on arrival "Swampy" until I put the real Thai one in so obviously a tie up (excuse pun) but 7/11 way to go look forward to your trip report Ian Smiler

I will be meeting my filipino girlfriend out there for three wonderful weeks. I know, coals to Newcastle, but I figure I need a change.
