Has anybody seen the "new" Post Office deal for your telephonelandline?

Has anybody switched to it? As we don't have the Broadband at home - I am looking any deals to bring the costs down.

Will it still work with 1p and 2p and 4p lines to Australia and Thailand?

Any comments greatly appreciated

thanks Skippy

But check with them how much they will charge you for calling those numbers - it may be the same as BT or it could be a fixed charge of Xp per minute for all 0844 numbers.

Good point Tobias.

We used to use some numbers as part of the "Free Minutes" in the mobile contract but they kept excludinmg the numbers from that deal

-hence why I have asked if any one has used the Post Office service - apparently you get £50 off your bill (over 12 months) if you switch before the end of March

Thanks Wan - do you mean that if you call using the dial around etc that the calls are charged the same as BT?

So basically you get £50 for getting a bill from the Post Office rather than BT?

-thanks for any comments guys and girls

i signed up for the post office deal and wondered why its taken so long, the bloke who answered the phone told me that they have received around half a million applications ???????????? so i guess it might be a little while longer before i get the new service, you just can,t ignore £50 can you ???

slightly off topic but
seems to be the same case with all these telecoms companies. last month i changed my landline and mobile to talk talk as all calls between are free. My mobile sim was with me within two days, but 3 weeks later i have received a letter saying due to high demand home line change over is delayed. so my mobile is currently an expensive pay as you go, or it would be if i bought any credit for it
