What's the cheapest way to call a mobile in bkk from O2 mobile in UK? I have tried a few 2&3 pence ones but it seems to work out more like 40-50 pence by the time the call is over.

With 18185 you can register 1 land line and 1 mobile number, you call 0208 180 2828 on your mobile and that number should be ok for your free minutes (works ok on Orange but worth checking with O2)I guess if your on pay as you go then it will cost the standard rate whatever that is for you, calls then cost 1p per minute plus a small connection charge, details on 18185 website.
Called my wife today from my mobile, shes in Chanthaburi at the moment and the line was excellent.

you may find it cheaper with a Post office international phone card (8.5p min to a mobile in Thailand)as once you have put in your pin no from the back of the card you are no longer paying the o2 call charge to the access number just 8.5p per min wich comes off the balance on the card.

Brian,

if you're on 02 contract, I'd suggest using the TUK Telecom access number (0844 555 0131).

Not only does come out of your inclusive minutes but it'll also help keep this great community going.

In the past I used the 18185 access number but you have to pay their rates (+ their connection charge) and it costs you minutes.

...and it's not just LOS. You can call the USA, Republic of Ireland and many other places. It just comes out of your inclusive minutes. Smiler

Cheers,
Packpao

P.S. 0845 and 0870 are almost always included in 02 minutes but might be worth double checking if you're going to make a lot of calls.

Does it come out of your inclusive minutes 1 minute = 1 minute or does it come out every minute you talk is 5 minutes inclusive talk time. Or does it come out of your inclusive minutes AND charge an extra sum to your bill?

Why not use the Thailand-UK 0844 service instead? The Text will not have come from o2 by the way.

The Thailand-UK number is also free on o2 contract tariffs.
