I love this film!! - probably because i am in the same generation as the main characters in the story. The house that i spent most part of my early years looks pretty much like ones in the film. It just brought back so much of childhood memory - all the songs, the games, the slang words etc. I kept smiling throughtout the film.

Anyway, for british viewers, it probably won't mean anything much. If you like to see what lives are like for thai kids in late 70s or early 80s, this film is for you.

In Fan Chan, the main character, Jeab, spends most of the film looking back at his former relationship with his childhood sweetheart, Noi-Na, wondering what his life would be like had he not turned his back on her in favour of his gang of friends.

There are too many songs which distract from rather than add to a weak storyline. If I wanted a musical, I would have bought Mary Poppins! That said, Fan Chan is replete with good comedy moments which make up for the music. It's also a good opportunity to see what life was like growing up in Thailand.

The film only reverts to the present-tense about ten minutes from the end, which is disappointing. I want to know what happens to Jeab and Noi-Na!

This was the first film I watched on my new DVD player. I picked up the VCD version in London's Chinatown.

"Fan Chan" This word is the song when I was young and the "fan Chan " was top hit...

"Fan Chan" they turn back to the 70s, or 80s. and all the song in this flim was same age, just only one song that Pammy sing is new song.

"Fan Chan" in This flim, they talk about the puppy love between Jeab and Noi Naa, and the relationship with friends, and at that time boys and girls quite saperate groups to play and Jeab he is a real boy, then he want to play same as the boys playing, then he have to proof that is a real boy ( not Kra Toey )

The last ten minutes at the end, I watched a interview about this, director for this flim he was said in the interview as he rather to keep the memory for Noi Naa same as the little girl in Jeab's memory, then he just stop at wedding party and no need to continue the relationship of them. then when we watch this flim we also have the memory about Noi Naa same as Jeab he have as the lovely girl with little pink cheeks and long pigtail hair.

I love this flim and feel I going back to my memory when I was young. all the song in this flim was top hit and we can sing all the girl can sing the song of Sao Sao Sao

I bought this flim in Bkk when i went to Thailand last year and first time watching in UK ( when this flim in the cinema I was too busy with my old job)

My wife loved this movie.Unfortunately I downloaded a Thai only version but could follow the storyline okay(kids are kids the world over)
