Prang discovers she's pregnant and decides to cheer herself up by going to a haunted house and takes part in a ouija board summoning. Not a lot happens except the board spells out a name. Prang likes the name and decides to give it to her daughter. As soon as she is born, Prang starts realising that something’s wrong, her friends start to die and it seems her daughter is somehow involved.
At first I thought this was going to be the usual "various victims meet a nasty and gory death before the ghost is exorcised" type of film. But it isn't like that at all.
There is a ghost, and she is connected to the little girl, but she doesn't show up until the little girl is 7, and even then only the girl can see her.
The film is more of a psychological thriller, as the girls mother cannot understand why her daughter is behaving so badly.
The mother decides it's the new boyfriend, who her daughter thinks has replaced her in her mothers affections. So she takes the girl to see a child psychiatrist. It looks like he may be able to "cure" her, so he has to go! Not long after others who have upset the girl start to die too.
This is a well plotted, well thought out film, but is let down slightly by the, IMHO, rather poor ending.
