Pod (Mhasmuth Bhunyaruk) is a country boy who leaves his home town to work in a big city. He loses his finger in an accident at work in a canned fish factory. He quits his job and becomes a security guard for a large company where he falls for a maid called Jin (Sangthong Kaitauthong). Jin dreams of getting herself an education while Pod becomes a cab driver just so he has a car to impress her with, but Jin is more fond of Peter (Chuck Stephens) who later changes her life in a way she's never dreamt of before.

ป๊อด (มหาสมุทร บุณยรักษ์) เป็นชายผู้ไม่มีความฝัน เขาเป็นคนต่างจังหวัดที่เข้ามาทำงานเป็นคนงานในโรงงานปลากระป๋องที่กรุงเทพฯ วันหนึ่งเขาเผลอตัดนิ้วตัวเองใส่ไปในกระป๋อง ป๊อดเที่ยวตามหานิ้วของเขาไปทั่วทุกห้างสรรพสินค้าจนพบ ก่อนจะตัดสินใจลาออกจากงานไปเป็น รปภ. ที่บริษัทแห่งหนึ่ง ที่นี่เองเขาได้พบกับ จิน (แสงทอง เกตุอู่ทอง) จินเป็นแม่บ้านทำความสะอาดที่ชอบถูพื้นเป็นชีวิตจิตใจ ป๊อดแอบชอบจินและสังเกตว่า นอกจากชอบถูพื้นแล้ว จินยังชอบถือหนังสือปกสีขาวเล่มเล็กๆ ที่เธออ่านไม่ออกติดตัวตลอดเวลา จินมีความฝัน เธอฝันว่าวันหนึ่งเธอจะอ่านหนังสือเล่มนั้นออก และชีวิตของเธอก็จะเปลี่ยนไป ป๊อดพยายามเอาใจจินด้วยการลาออกไปขับแท๊กซี่ เพื่อจะได้มีรถมารับส่งจินทุกวัน แต่จินก็ไม่เคยสนใจป๊อดเลย จนวันหนึ่งชีวิตของจินก็เปลี่ยนไปจริงๆ เมื่อจินได้พบกับ ปีเตอร์ (ชัค สตีเฟน) ฝรั่งนักประท้วงเพื่อสิ่งแวดล้อม จินสนใจปีเตอร์เพราะเขามีหนังสือปกสีขาวเล่มเดียวกับเธอด้วยความอยากรู้ความหมายในหนังสือเล่มนั้นทำให้จินลาออกจากงานไปตามหาปีเตอร์ และกลายเป็นพวกประท้วงเพื่อรักษาสิ่งแวดล้อมไปด้วย อดเศร้าใจแต่จินก็ไม่เคยกลับมาเลยและแล้วหลังจากตามหามานานจินก็ได้พบกับปีเตอร์อีกครั้ง และได้รู้ความจริงในหนังสือปกสีขาวที่ทำให้ความฝันของเธอต้องพังทลายลง ด้วยความผิดหวังจินเปลี่ยนแปลงตัวเองอย่างรวดเร็ว และหนีหายไปจากชีวิตป๊อด ป๊อดจึงกลับบ้านนอกไปด้วยความเศร้าใจ ความรักของป๊อดจะเป็นอย่างไรต่อไป และจินจะค้นพบสิ่งที่เธอพยายามตามหาหรือไม่

It's from the directer of Fa Talai Jone - ฟ้าทะลายโจร (Tears of the Black Tiger) and is, by all accounts, just as weird and just as wonderful.

I love Thai films, but don't know where to go in London to see them, please can you point me in the right direction - I wouldn't mind seeing my beautiful boxer but I can't find any future dates.

London has an annual Thai film festival. In previous years a number of films have been hosted by the Prince Charles Cinema:

i don't think it is annual

as there was not one last year but the year before that there was

lucy there was a thai film at the london film festival. check local listings for occassional thai films especially in the west end
