Which seems to suggest that if you're a gold card holder and book to travel on your reward ticket the month before or after your birthday, you get it for half the amount of miles???

Anyone else come across this?

Hi,

Yes - ROP Gold card holders have been given a 'Birthday Gift' for the last couple of years. 2006's was half price award redemption for yourself only for the month before, the month containing, or the month after your birthday.

It's normally communucated with a 'Birthday Pack' through the post - it contains a few partner (Hotel/Car Hire) offers as well but none significant IMHO.

The expectation from the flyertalk forum is 2007's reward will be the same.
