Depending on the time of year, often the best(cheapest)way is to book a charter flight, then just rip up the return ticket. I'm still nostalgic for the days when Britannia flew to Phuket from Gatwick, best deal I ever got was £129, which even included the departure tax - those days are long gone (7, 8 years ago), but there must still be some cheap charter flights to be had.

I know someone who did something similar. However his strategy was to book an expensive flight and not pay the credit card company back Of course I would never recommend such as thing as it could ruin your credit rating !

LOL. A bit of a give away as to where they might want to start looking for you.
