We just got back from a 3 week trip to Thailand.
Influenced by advice we got on this forum, we chose to fly with Qatar airways.
The experience was really great. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The entertainment system was excellent on 3 out of 4 legs, and OK on the 4th. The food was pretty good. The economy class seats seemed more roomy than some other airlines'. And although we normally avoid stopovers, a break splitting the flight into two halves was actually quite pleasant, and the stopovers were only 1 hour each way. All flights were pretty much on time.
We may have been lucky, but we have been left with a very positive impression of Qatar Airways.

my mrs fly s qatar airways to ...london this weekend via doha...i have flown them a few times and rate them as pretty good....my wife uses her united airlines frequent flyer....mileage plus...to collect points...as they are an airline partner of united......

Good to hear as they are now looking like the cheapest for Manchester-BKK, it used to be Etihad, tickets for about 400-450 but now they have jumped to well over 500 and Qatar are still sub 500
