Thai Air buys six A380 superjumbos
17:39 - 08-August-2008

THAI Airways has announced the acquisition of six Airbus A380s, which will be rolled out over the next 18 months, and deployed on its non-stop London to Bangkok route.
Known as the superjumbo and the largest passenger airliner in the world, the double-deck, wide-body, four-engine airliner will be delivered to the London hub of Thai Airways and used on its long-haul flights starting in 2009.
In advance of the introduction of its first Airbus A380 into commercial service, Thai Airways International — the national carrier of the Kingdom of Thailand — also confirmed that the frequency of direct flights from London to Bangkok remains unchanged with two daily non-stop flights from London to Bangkok.
Thai Airways also confirmed the arrival of the new A330-300 aircraft models to its existing fleet. Featuring a significant increase in the seat width and recline angle as well as PC power outlets compatible with plugs from more than 145 countries, the economy class traveller will experience an enhanced flying experience.
Additionally, the number of business class seats has been reduced to allow for greater pitch dimensions — a 20 per cent increase in pitch, going from 49 inches to 58 inches

I won't miss those old flying buckets they use now, they still have hardish seats and dodgy movie screens with the one ear plug not working..

Just wonder how much more of an increase in fares there will be to pay for all of these Angel Definately well needed though (new aircraft that is, not fare increase Big Grin) Nod

Maybe a little too late for me. In my opinion Thai have gone downhill rapidly, with the fares they charge and the services they provide.
