This is my experience (now twice) and only applies to Thai Airways :-

The actual wording on the airlines docs says :-

credit card used for purchase of this ticket (electronic in our case) and Passport must always be presented at the check in counter (tricky with me in UK and Dao in LOS)except as follows:-

"in case the Credit card holder has visited THAI office and paid cash or signed the credit card slip,(chip & pin in my case) only passport or identification card must be shown"

I went to Thai in London today (Albemarle Street W1S) and was served by a farang Confused who not only booked the flight using my debit card but also allocated Dao's seat and credited her ROP miles! Applause (no more letters to them after flight when she "forgots darling")

He went on to give me a hard copy of the ticket with number and ref etc but also emailed Dao with a copy!

IMHO this is what I call service and hats off to TG Thumbs Up
