Just a quick word of warning.

Booked a package holiday with Thomson, flying Emirates via dubai with the Dubai/BKK leg run by Thai.

Rang Emirates up to request a bassinet for the 1 year old, no plomplem, rang Thai air only to be told that their policy is babies over 6 months cannot have one, that means we have the nipper in our laps for the 6 hour journey to BKK.

Not impressed at all.

Gonna contact Thomson monday about changing flight, but suspect it will be 500 sovs at least for the familly

The simple answer to that is, when you are on the plane ask the stewardess for a bassinet and if they ask say that they are 6 months old who's to know.

There is a weight limit but we flew with our son on Thai when he was about 9 months old and they gave us a Basinet no problem on the international and domestic flights. You need to make sure you get the bulkhead seats though.

Even with Emirates, once you get on the plane you'll find they won't give you a bassinet if the baby is too tall or heavy for it. I think their weight limit is 11kgs.

when our son was too big for a bassinet they then supplied a car seat for him, attached to the bulk head.
If possible try and ask them in advance incase there are a lot of young children travelling. Thumbs Up

Double sixed now.

Problem with the booking, travel agent ballsed up and we got stuck with a real long lay over in Dubai.

So i ranted and raved and they have finally given us a direct flight with Thai instead, great as its direct no layover, but worried about having the nipper on the lap for 12 hours.

Have got bulkead seats though and requested a bassinet so might be ok, just dont think anyone will believe she is 5 months old though, as shes now 1 year old.
