...and also just trying to find out when is the cheapest time to fly to LOS through out the year ? (not being a tight @ss, just had major spending spree moving into the new house )

Am I right in thinking June / July / August ?

The school summer break and christmas are bad. I tink around Feb/March but could be wrong.

Historically I've found May/Jun and Oct/Nov cheapest, but you often need to wait till fairly late to get the best offers at these times.

I've had good deals in Feb/March on Thai

And the weather's great...

Yes went in June 05 and it cost me about £375 with Thai Air.

Went in Dec on exactly the same flight - same no, same time take off etc and it was £750

flying out on 25th jan 07 etihad manchester via abu dabi.
£403 each,booked it end november.

Some of the big boys (BA/Quantas ect ) like to keep up with the shops and usually have a january sale .

Yes and yes.

Prefer Emirates, better in flight entertainment and flight times ie mid evening, arrive early evening.

i went on 30/11 with THAI for £429 (tg917 and tg910), booked in late october. there was a tremendous price difference between 30/11 and 01/12. this tallies with what lucky says.
