Got an email form Thai Airways today.

Seems a good deal and I've wanted to go to Koh Lanta and even this particular hotel for a while (didn't get there last trip )

What's the weather like in June, apart from probably wet?

it isn't too hot compared with bangkok in late may (expect sunshine mixed with heavy rainfall). on my one trip there, koh lanta was virtually devoid of tourists and there was only one other room occupied at our hotel, which was on klong dao beach.

the hotel food was therefore very limited. don't expect any sort of party atmosphere or clear sea for snorkelling. do expect a good chance of being able to have a whole beach to urself.

there were no scheduled boats from ao nang to koh lanta, so we had to go by minibus (including ferry), returning by songthaew. the complimentary airport transfer takes the hassle out of this.

overall, the THAI langham place resort offer does seem very good value if u pay in cash, not miles.
