Hello again everyone, how are you all?
does anyone know of any good hotel's near the embassy in Bangkok? my girlfriend is going to check some out for me when she goes to Bangkok at the beginning of October but id like to have a few names of some fairly good ones for her to go look at. She's not too sure about it i don't think bless her. I know what she is like and will think about my wallet and get something cheap (yes she is a rare breed) and probably not that good. Any help would be greatly appreciated. i don't mind paying upto 3000THB a night as i am only staying a few nights and want a nice one |

if you search for JIMS LODGE on the net. ive used it many times, beautiful first class small hotel with swimming pool. it is a 5 min walk, and just of the sukumvit road, prices from 600 - 900 for penthouse.

Hi CM, Try Googling Imperial Tara hotel Bangkok and you will see a map, you can to get an idea where Imperial group of hotels are from Wireless Road, have never stayed there, when wife was jumping through the Embassy hoop we stayed at the Rex Hotel, near Thong Lo BTS station, one stop down from Prom Phong BTS and the Embassy, (cheap 880baht and clean!)if your HiSo try the Landmark

I used to use Jim's lodge, never found the swiming pool though only a disused hot tub on the roof.
Looking at my bill for Nov 2005 room rate 1,600 bht + service charge 160 bht + VAT 123 bht. Now use Golden palace on Soi 1 Rooms are about the same standard as Jim's Lodge, but only have 4' 6" beds. Nice pool but a bit on the cold side. Staff are lovely especially to the wife so there's none of the crap you get at some Hotels about charging extra for " overnight guests ".We were there last Xmas and were even invited to the Staff Xmas Party. |

If you want to seriously lash out go Nai Lert (lovely but rip away and 50 yards to Embassy) but we used Holiday Inn Ploenchit (again expensive but very good but no breakfast incl and the African Gentleman entertaining in the bar well!

Would highly recommend Centre Point Apartments on Wireless Road - only 5 mins walk to the Embassy. Not cheap but one of the best places i've stayed in BKK. Also location is good right across Wireless Road facing the numerous translation agencies.
