Hi Sy,

No firsthand experience of that area of Bangkok, but the Royal City Hotel (3 Star) @ 800 Borom Ratchonni Road, Bangplad, Bangkok 10700 has some OK reviews as good value on www.tripadvisor.com

The closeby SD Avenue hotel reviews are less than complimentary.

Anyone had any experience of these hotels ?

Regards,
Graham

I've stayed at the S.D. Avenue Hotel, albeit 8 years ago. It was reasonable value for money then and the price doesn't seem to have changed much since.

We stayed at the Royal River for a one night a couple of years ago. Big room and nice location on the river.

very pleasant hotel and location, though not really in the heart of the pinklao area. the cheapest rooms face inward and have no windows, but these are normally reserved by mainland chinese travel agents for package tourists, so they won't be offered to u online.

if u don't want to pay hotel prices for laundry and internet, then such facilities are available at small shops nearby.
