Probably a little early for this one but I thought I'd get it started, as we have just booked up to go to Los, from 5th Dec 06 to 11th Jan 07, and possibly others will also be there at this time.
I will need a few reminders on a few things, as others may do, as I've not been for 2 years. Plus as well things can change in a short time too. So I thought things for this period could be collated here. Shrug

So will the new Airport be open around this time?

And my 1st reminder, I'll be needing a visa as I'l be there for 6 weeks, so do I get it from London or from Birmingham? I seem to recall collecting one from Birmingham Consulate previously. And what is the cost and time scale for getting one now?
We are on a pretty tight budget so that will tie in nicely with the topic 'Thailand on a shoestring'. I'm watching that with interest.
For us this time we will be steering clear of hotels a little, as we will stay in the village for 2 weeks at least and some time in a family home just outside Bangkok.
That's all for now but for one question as to who might be out there during the same period? I'm making no promises of meeting up this time around mind as things change quite quick with the Boss! But if we can , we will! Smiler

Andy,
BKK for a couple of days then up to Roi Et. Back to BKK then a quick trip to Hong Kong and Philippines. BKK again and probably down to Pattaya for a few days depending on who is around.

Nothing more firm than that really.

Everyone needs a visa to Travel to Australia. British can apply on line for an Electronic Travel Authority.

Andy - a Thai citzen needs a visa to Australia. Would help if you have travel plans/tour in place or an invitation from an Aussie

Mrs Skippy went with me to my brothers wedding about six months after we were married - It helped that we had a copy of the wedding invite etc.

Sent it off to Australian High Commission and came back 2 days later ( compare that to the wait we had just gone through for our ILR - and I geniunely thought it came back so quickly because it was rejected)

There are (as always) a couple of things that helped with the visa - PM if you need me to tell you what else we put in the envelope

- Skippy
Thumbs Up

Ok back on topic. Bit of a reminder needed again, for websites to book hotels in Bangkok during December. Unless anyone can suggest any cheap hotels in central Bangkok. looking to pay around 10 to 14 pound per night.
