I stayed at the Little Duck a few years ago. It is a 4 star hotel but more like a 5 star, and very reasonable. Still is going by their website.

Little Duck Hotel

I would thoroughly recommend staying at the Laluna Hotel & Resort in Chiang Rai. Excellent price and service. Book a room next to the pool as well. I stayed there last summer and it wasn't too busy so it was nice too relax around the pool after a day's sightseeing. The rooms are modest and recently refurbished but not basic and have cable TV, fridge and good showers. The breakfast is quite good as well.

Kate,

Interesting but I hope the service is quicker than the loading of their site and as for the room including "two cups of coffee" Eeker

Looks like one to avoid then Big Grin

Check this site, gives prices in many currency's and reports on the hotels in Chiang Rai, and many more city's and towns in Thailand, better still put it in your favourites!!

Thanks Admin, as I have said before it is a pity that you have not put a list of Thailand-UK friendly sites where you get some commision, on the forum page where everybody will see, at the bottom next to Thai translation of Landing Card just a suggestion!!

Colin,
Are the 18 Rimkok Resort reviews the same as Asiarooms reviews? if yes were you wearing your glasses? sounds like a terrible place!!

oldoldgit,

Obviously not but too late now but we will wait and see!

Maybe I will be posting a crap report too on return UK or maybe a surprise as "you can't please all of the people all of the time but you can please some of the people some of the time"

Anyway for the benefit of T-UK I will post a trip report on return

I stayed at the Rimkok Resort about 5 years ago. Great setting and the gardens are an absolute pleasure to walk around. The rooms though were a bit tired looking and you could only get local TV stations, but that may have changed by now. The resort is quite a distance from the town centre and I would recommend hiring a car if you are there for more than a couple of days. All in all an OK place to stay for a couple of days.

Well Rimkok was fine but noted the carpets (posted above) on stairs down to pool LOL

We were in river wing 6000 something so long walk but honestly could not fault anything else Thumbs Up

Would go again if in Chiang Rai and £17.00 a good price Thumbs Up

Glad it worked out ok for you, the distance from town put me off a bit, and race was good too? had Hamilton for third at Dubai.

oldoldgit,

Yes a bit out of town but Rimkok had a shuttle bus every half hour both ways dropping and picking up at the night market at a reasonable cost

As for the Malaysian race awesome Cool
