At long last...

Getting pretty bored of Sunday TV Sleep Sleep

So thought I'd compile a list of various other holiday destinations other than Asia we could maybe visit one day, (best get saving again) without the hassle of applying for a visa before hand. Cool (most are just visa on arrival)

Su has Thai passport with ILR stamp...... and one day we may be fortunate enough to get her UK passport Angel But until then....

(in no particular order)

Sri Lanka
Maldives
Peru
Brazil
Fiji
Eygpt (Sharm El Sheik)
St.Lucia
S.Africa
Dominican Republic
Costa Rica
Chile
Mauritius
Cayman Islands
Bermuda
Argentina
Nicaragua
Cape Verde Islands
Cook Islands
Seychelles

Not sure how it works if flights aren't direct to some of places e.g via America? Not so easy then maybe Nod

Got most of this info from a link Rob C posted on here a while ago - click here

Hi
At the moment you can also go to Switzerland with just a FLR or ILR stamp. Although this may change in the future when they join the rest of Europe in needing a Schengen Visa.

All the best

That may not matter as it will only be of issue for Swiss issued visas , unless the other Schengen states have insisted that the Swiss change the immigration rules as a condition of joining.

Lets hope they do not.
I have a feeling we will be visiting the family there a few more time, as my step daughter has not seen her cousin for 5 years.

Even if they do getting a Swiss visa is very easy especially if you have relatives in Switzerland , that's not going to change too much.

No I went to Hurghada and the melee for the visa on arrival annoyed me so next time I'll get all off us visas before departure

is it like bkk, where uk citizens receive a free entry stamp, while some other nationals must queue up to pay for a visa at the "visa on arrival" desk?

In Hurghada it was like an opening day at the sales , several aircraft had arrived simultaneously and there was quite a small entrance to an area with a series of desks on the left where people were pushing through to the front and a bunch of helpful officials were grabbing money to pay for the visa.

Others were trying to get money directly from your pocket etc while the immigration guys were waiting patiently in their respective booths.

In our case my wife had got a visa already from the Egyptian embassy in Bern and I had to get one on arrival which incidentally cost the same for me and our son.

Next time I would get the visas from the embassy fixed price and no airport harassment.
