A friend of mine is visiting LOS for the first time this December and was asking me for advice on things to do and see.
Amongst other things, I suggested Suan Lum Night Bazaar as it has the market, good food/beer and is popular with Thais (bit more of an authentic experience than hanging out in Patpong!).
I was there in Jan this year and had a great time.
However, on googling Suan Lum to send a link to my friend, I stumbled upon the following link which suggests that it was due to close in April 2007.
Has anyone been recently or can verify that it has closed down? The article claims that a bidding process is underway and that winning bid is to be announced in April.
I'm hoping this has fallen through as I have very much enjoyed this place over the years. Further research hasn't told me whether or not this has actually happened!
Cheers,
Rob.

Its still there actually. There was a notice there is July telling all the occupants that it was to be re-developed and that they had to leave. I know there was some kind of fight against the redevelopment plans but I don't know the outcome. However, it was still there last week.
Just to update my own post, I went there a couple of weeks ago and all is still going strong! The beer garden was very busy and shows no signs of closing down. Fingers crossed that this place can stay!

It's accross the road from rear entrance of Lumphini Park. Either Skytrain to Sala Daeng then 15 minute stroll going through the park or MRT station Lumpini right on the doorstep. And as SteveR says it is suitable for kids.
