going out to los in jan 07 can anybody recommend hotel near the new airport,only need one night then b in law drops car off for me

I went middle of Oct this year. I arrived on a domestic flight from Ubon and got a minibus from one of the touts at the arrivals exit. A bit expensive but we were travelling as a large-ish party and saving a few baht risking the party getting split up and lost wasn't worth it. Journey to Sukhumvit seemed about the same time although everyone says it's further.
In summary, I would say stay where you normally stay and know well. Not much difference and no real gain. The taxi might cost an extra 100 baht compared to Don Muang. Is it worth it for a quid?
What does everybody else think?

The hotel within the airport complex is the Novotel Suvarnabhumi.

I believe there are shuttle buses from the main terminal every 10 minutes.

Surprisingly not that many hotels close Suvarnabhumi. You could try the Grand Inn Hotel about 15 minute drive from Terminal. It’s actually on the other side of runway and opposite the terminal building. Great night view of the airport all lit up at night and not as noisy as you might think.
