The Holiday Mansion Hotel is directly opposite the British Embassy, as already said.

We stayed there the night before our visa interview back in 2001. Highly recommended ... so convenient ... wait for a break in the traffic (when the traffic lights down the road turn red) and just stroll across the road.

oops forgot to mension photocopying very good at holiday mansion, the receptionist seems to know the ropes as it were. its also very useful as its somewhere to hold up whilst the otherone is inside getting the grilling, much better than loitering outside, did you mention something about young ones ???

When Mam had her first interview we stayed the Holiday Mansion Hotel. She was at the embassy from 7.30 till 10.00 am and during that time she had to consult with me twice - strolling across the road to the breakfast buffet or our room was no problem.
It made the whole ordeal of the interview more of an trial for me as well, however, as I was given bewildering accounts of what was going on and both positive and negative signals throughout the morning that made the situation a whole lot more tense.

I've stayed there many times, excellent hotel, but I usually find a brisk walk is safer.

BTW John .... I see I'm not the only dinosaur now Wink

I wouldn't call the hotel "excellent" - it seemed a bit past its prime to me, but it does serve "excellent" Italian food. Wink
