Hi everyone

Hope you are all well.

My close friends are going to Thailand for the first time and have booked a package deal. They are stopping at the Bel-Aire Princess Hotel in Bangkok for four days. Can anyone tell me is this a good hotel. My friends are extremely nice people and I want them to have a really good time. I do not want them to stop in a flee pit 0or a hotel that is run like a cattle market. Any comments will be really appreciated.

Kind regards

Andy

It is a good hotel. But apart from the free coffee and tea avoid the mini bar. I posted on here a few years ago a small bottle of water was 75 baht then!
They are only a couple of doors away from the likes of Gullivers and right opposite the front door of the hotel there used to be a pool bar which was very reasonable.
Easy access to the BTS and the rooms were very good.
Hope they enjoy Thumbs Up

Hi Andy22,

I have worked there before, my position was asst. sales manager. That's is ok, if your friend love the area. That area base is sukhumvit soi 5, and good for night time to shop, drink and eat. I don't know your friend is a woman or man, but my idea is good for a men. They got a pub, club on sukhumvit soi 4 and soi 3. Well fair enough for women to walk around to shop in night time not on wednesday night, cause the street market will close in that night. This hotel is three star hotel not big for this area.

I've stayed there on more than one occasion and I think its its a good hotel. Its certainly not a flea tip or cattle market. It had a makeover a while ago, has a diverse cliantel, its comfortable, everything works, a large choice for brekky and the usual hotel lobby type bar and I like the location.

Its fine and I would stay there again.

Both my dad and I stayed there, it is a very good hotel (if it was cheaper it would be a hotel of choice for me). My dad had a standard room which was BIG, I went for a Superior room and it was MASSIVE, very clean, great service and food. If memory serves me right there are quite a few steps up to the entrance, that would be the only downside I could mention, so shows what I think of it. I also thought it was 4 star rather than 3, so things will have changed since my stay.

I stayed their last year and found it ok but expensive and now choose to stay elswhere. It is very package tourist type hotel and will suit new holidaymakers to Thailand.
The pool bar has gone and is now a 7 11 store - near enough to stock up and not use the minibar! Don't forget though no booze 2-5pm and after midnight.

We have stayed at the Bel-Aire Princess about 8 times in the last 5 Year's, We always book this with Trailfinders, with there special deal you get 4 nights for £96 ( £24 pn ). You will not get better than this anywhere on the web, the average on the web is about £40 pn.

The Bel-Aire Princess is ideally located for everything you need, 5 Min walk to the skytrain, On the same street is a great foodland store which has everything you need, For sure buy your bottles of water here, Whatever hotel you go in the world the room bar is a no-go area even this hotel.

This year the hotel have been refurbishing the rooms floor by floor, they look great now. The large swimming pool area is on the 3rd floor with a waiter service, But you have to wait until 11am for the sun to arrive in the pool area Frowner apart from that small thing i would fully recommend this hotel.

Cheers
