Ok, nothing to do with Thailand. But I have no dowt that some members here have also visited the Philippines.
I am flying to Manila with Thai airways soon. (Been to Thailand many times, but never to Philippines) I will miss my connecting flight to Palawan (where I will meet a friend), so have decided to either stay in Manila for a few nights, go to Angeles or take a flight (which I can connect to on the same day) down to Cebu for a few days, before continuing to Palawan.
Does anyone here have any advice on the above? I am unsure what to do. I will be traveling alone.
Also is it reasonably safe to get a taxi in Manila at night from the airport?
Any advice at all would be greatful. Thanks.

My brother lives in Cebu, well Mandaue to be precise, and on my visits there I have liked the place. I'd certainly prefer to spend a couple of days there than in Manila.

As for taxis in Manila, like many big cities make sure you use a registered, metered taxi. If memory serves, there is an official desk for hiring taxis at the airport, similar to Bangkok.

AC! I am guessing that is Angeles city....taking that advice, I will steer clear of that place. So the Cebu option is sounding the best at the moment. Any more tips will be greatfully received. Thanks.
(By the way, incase anyone is intrested, there's a seat sale with Cebu Pacific air for internal Ph flights, for only 1p each, available for booking until Sunday this week).

Good advice from Noi & Nick about the taxis, my pal visited the Philippines
In 91 he took a unlicensed taxi from the airport and was robbed at knife point,
Or should I say machete point, anyway he was left in his under pants, hope it’s
Not that bad now .
