Has anyone stayed at the "Arnoma" which according to Asia Rooms is on Rajadamri Rd which I believe is the vac road.

When in BKK we usually stay at Holiday Inn Ploenchit but I think this time (visa application again!) we try something different.

Any views on this Hotel appreciated
Thanks

Thanks Paul,

It looks ok and is cheaper than Holiday Inn which is round the corner looking at their map.

Not knowing the numbering system on this road is vac within walking distance of this Hotel?

The Embassy is on Wireless/Wittayu Road, Rajdamri is where the World Trade Centre (whatever it's called now - Central World?) is. The Arnoma is on the opposite side to the WTC, quite close to Petchburi Road. Definitely walkable, especially if you're off early in the morning - though your missus might not agree as it's a few blocks away.

June and I stayed at the Nai Lert Park Hotel, which is next door to the British Embassy.

Price is about £60 per night, which I appreciate is not to many peoples liking when there are hotels of a reasonable standard much cheaper. However, I thoroughly enjoyed our stay (in fact we have stayed there a few times). The hotel was refurbished in 2004 with quite contemporary styling. The best feature is a pool in a garden area that is a welcome peaceful retreat in the middle of Bangkok's hustle and bustle (spelling??).

Other people have commented on Holiday Mansion being very good value and it is acreoss the road from the embassy.

GTG and garyg,
Thanks but what I'm after is a member of this Forum's personal experience of Arnoma Hotel.

garyg have done Nai Lert before! and agree pool area very good and relaxing but g/f threw a fit when she saw the drink bill after 3 days! (said could feed family for a month or two!) My reply It's your cocktails in the evenings darling Big Grin when we left for Koh Chang she gave an actual wave to Hotel outside saying "goodbye Nai Lert we not come again"! and we haven't since as she will not go there Confused

erikr69,

We stayed at Cookies Hotel on white sands beach and it was fine and reasonable price

Only problem with the trip was trying to get taxi back to ferry which was the complete opposite to arrival where each boat was greeted by loads of baht buses!

We loved it Have a good time if you go
