I have just seen some good prices for a deluxe room at the sawasdee sea view hotel in pattaya. 715bht a night with http://www.morethailand.com and 805bht with http://www.directrooms.com.I am just wondering if these sites are trustworthy as i don,t want to prepay unless i am sure it's ok.

I have recently used http://hotels.thailand-uk.com to book hotels in Bangkok & Khon Kaen & had no problems what so ever. Got the recipt on line after full payment. Showed it to the hotel & all went ok. Visa card even billed correct amount. Hense I can recomend the above.

(Link edited by Admin - exact same reservation service as original posting but proceeds to thailand-uk.com)

Thanks for the reply but its the price that caught my eye on the other sites and thats why i asked if they were trustworthy. I did have a look at the site you sent and it would be the same as the walk in rate so i wouldnt be prepared to pay up front.Cheers though.

I understand what you're saying but the walk in rate for both hotels I booked was more expensive as we phoned them up from the UK before hand to inquire. That's why I booked on line. Guess you gotta shop around.

I too cannot answer your question as I have not used those 2 sites. I have used this one. When I compared the hotel I use in Bangkok from this site to your two, mine was cheaper. Maybe yours will be too?

Self edit
Big Grin Doh just noticed you gave the name of your hotel and this site does not list it.

I use http://www.asiarooms.com which is always cheaper than walk in as i found out in bangkok once (never again)

Anyway you get the confirmation and hotel voucher by email before you go which includes directions for the taxi driver (in thai)

I have used for bangkok/chiang mai/koh chang/phitsanulok/
hua hin/cha amm etc and no problems.

I would recommend pre booking to avoid rip away!!

Nice one Greg thats the cheapest one too so i am very happy.
Now has anyone ever stayed at the Golden Beach Hotel on 2nd road and is it ok? It looks nice enough but theirs nothing like first hand knowledge. Me and the wife are not even sure where it is on 2nd road but we think maybe it's on a small unnamed soi next to the night bazaar (i think thats the name for the indoor market opposite siam bayview hotel). Is this correct?

I've just made bookings with

http://www.precisionreservations.com

They were significantly cheaper than asiarooms and have a well presented website. I'll let everyone know how I get on.

PS. They advertise on this site

Trouble with http://www.precisionreservations.com is they seem cheaper at first - but that's because they don't include the tax until you start booking......
