I have some 35000 air miles expiring in November and on my next trip am planning to use a few of them to have a few nights at a nice hotel. The website is silent though as to whether the award is per room or per guest. Any ideas?

Thanks

Richard

Based upon my previous experience the hotel awards are on a per room basis.

Hi,

By room (no breakfast) and you pay the tax!

Book early as from my experience these rooms are hard to get.

Also the hotel put you lower class or room type than those paying the full whack!

However with expiring miles "use or lose" as I'm about to find out in Dec 2007! Although the TG deal allows you to donate them to some charity apparantly!

Hi,

Not sure if you know, but miles expiring 2006 were extended to end of June 2007 - no indication if this is to be an annual offer though.

Also from the months ROP newsletter :-

"Expired Miles

Don’t forget that expired miles from 2006 must be redeemed by June 30, 2007 or are deleted from accounts.

If you fail to redeem expired miles by June 30 for whatever reason, you can request a 2 month extension, until August 31, 2007, at a cost of US $ 0.01 or Baht 0.38 per mile, beginning with a minimum of 10,000 miles.
Determine the number of expired miles you need to extend, pay at any THAI city ticketing office, then redeem and issue your preferred Award by August 31, 2007."

So your Dec 2007 expiry could be as late as end of August 2008 with a payment !

Regards,
Graham

Has anyone used their air miles accrued with Thai Air, with BMI for travel to Europe?
BMI are part of the Star Alliance network.

it costs 35,000 miles (plus taxes and fees) to use rop miles to fly bmi to europe. when some bmi tiny fares are as low as £1 (plus taxes and fees), i think there’s no point in using ur rop miles for european travel, unless u want to travel to russia or rather unusual destinations that take advantage of star alliance connections, such as the azores.
