Has anyone stayed at The Cosy Beach hotel ?

It looks a nice place to stay but is it a bit far out from the bright lights ? Do the baht buses run this far or can I walk into town ?

I can get a really good deal on a seaview room so i'm thinking of stopping here.

Nice place, nice fairly private beach. There are a few hotels up there so I don't think you will have any problems finding transport, but you will have to pay a bit more for it. The Royal Cliff is just up the road and they have their own shuttle bus ............

Just to echo the last two posts, it's a nice place, i stayed there about three years ago.
The beach is ok but the steps down there and back up again are quite a long haul.
The pool with a bar more than make up for that :-)
Also don't raid the fridge, it's costs a mint when they restock.......

I agree a good place to stay. Not much around there when we stayed there in 2001, but, easy to get into town. The photo in our forum album of the sea view was taken from the cosy hotel bedroom window.

I have stayed at the cosy beach hotel about 4 or 5 times, the last time was about 8 months ago.
The staff are great, the breakfast is very good, the rooms are good (just make sure you get a room with a sea view). The only complaint I have is the tv and lak of english chanels, but this may have changed by now.

There are plenty of taxis right outside of all types inc motorbikes.

There is also a 7/11 practicaly next door.

Right next door to the laundry mentioned by Leekman is a very good thai restaurant that i cannot recomend high enough if you like thai food only. see pic attached.

Found the hotel friendly and has a good resturant and pool. The rooms last I heard were getting a bit tired. However using it as a base is fine. There are plenty of taxis servicing the area and other Hotels like Mountain beach and island view. Also there are other condo hotels in the area. The beach access is straight down a steep set of stairs where you have a few refreshment bars/resturants etc. Also can hire jet ski's. Ideal for sun bathing, if you buy foods/drinks (water coke/beer from the bars they let you use their deck chairs/parasols. We usually eat during the day there foods is very good and inexpensive.

As you go up the hill past the parade of shops there a small coffee shop/internet cafe which was run by two UK guys. Cannot remember their names but they do a english breakfast if you need it.
I would say it's too far to walk to town. All that way up and down the hill sooner pay the 60baht.

Thanks for the feedback. Sounds like a nice place and for 800 baht a night for a room with seaview it's got to be a winner. Thumbs Up

Your better stuck in the middle of nowhere Mark. Might keep you out of trouble.
Thought you were only staying for a few nights? Why the 'budget' ?
A man of your status could afford a grand a night Razzer

Judging others before you have met is'nt a wise option.
