i stayed at the Charoen Thani Princess Hotel in Khon Kaen in november had a great time.
hotel was excellent the only problem i had was that the swimming pool area was completely shaded from the sun all day , and at times got quite chilly
has any one used this hotel in april if so does the sun move around to the front of building at that time of the year therefore the area exposed to some sunshine, the pool attendent told me it does but im not so sure??

I wouldn't bet on it to much, have stayed there on different months of the year and can't really remember it being covered in sun. However have also never really paid attention

Yes, very good hotel. We stayed there many times over the years before we moved here.

Swimming pools in the shade are very much Thai style. Thais, very sensibly, hate being in the sun. At the time the Charoen Thani Princess pool was built you could have counted the tourists in Khon Kaen on one hand so I guess it was designed mainly with Thais in mind.

Khon Kaen was quite a bit cooler than normal last November for the time of year.

By April, although the pool will still be in the shade, I'd be surprised if it ever gets chilly. It will be a lot hotter by then and, unless you're a complete sun freak, shade may be the best - and most sensible - place to lounge in.

I was in Khon Kaen for a while in november too. But i stayed at the Sofitel...and the pool was great there!
But seriously, this was the first time to KK, and really enjoyed it. Maybe because my gf was there?!?! haha
