Hi and regards to all. Me and my Thai girlfriend have been together for over 3...

Hi and regards to all. Me and my Thai girlfriend have been together for over 3 years. I have visited her nearly ten times and she has also been to visit me in the UK (visitors visa) twice, first for 4 months and 3 months the year after. I love her dearly and I know she loves me. We are both now becoming tired of not being together permanently. If I must marry my Thai girlfriend I will but I don't like being told when. It's a very personal thing marriage and I don't like it becoming something you HAVE to do. If she were English or already a UK resident we would live together a while and get married when the time was right. So, what type of visa should she apply for? A partner visa? Is that possible?

if we do HAVE to get married then fair enough. So in that situation I know we would either have to get married in Thailand or apply for a fiancé visa and get married within 6 months in the UK. Is it possible to merely get legally married in Bangkok and have a proper ceremony at a later date, say the following year in Thailand when we have both saved enough money for the wedding and the sin sott? In the meantime both of us living and working in the UK? By this I mean legally we are married, apply for a settlement visa, and after living one year together in the UK go back Thailand for the proper big Thai wedding? Possible or not?
Would appreciate all your expertise. Thanks in advance.

My partner is in the UK on a marriage visa. We married in March and I submitted her FLR application 3-4 weeks ago. The original visa expired on 15th May, i.e yesterday.

I assume that this visa is extended pending a decision on her FLR?

If not, she better start packing!!

Hello All,

Hello All,

I am new to this site had a quick browse here and there whilst making my application, now i am ready to complete i thought i would start a thread to see what you guys think i will appreciate all comments and advice.

I am after a visitor visa for my TGF Ae, we met in september last year and i went back to visit her for a month in march just gone that is when we decided to apply for a visa. I would like to think i have everything in place but do have a few questions i will mention at the end. I have finished the online application just hovering over that submit button at the moment. Ae is waiting on bank statements she is told that she has to go to the branch she opened the account in to recieve these : / is this true if so is there another way to save her the 10 hr bus trip ? Once she has these statements i will be submitting the application and sending the folder over i have prepared for her.

Visa application folder :
Itinery

Ae's Docs
1. Printed online application form
2. Passport and copy of I.D card
3. Birth certificate
4. Her sons birth certificate
5. 6 month bank statement
6. Tabien bahn
7. 2 x passport photos
8. Payment for visa

My Docs
1. Covering letter
2. Copy of passport & 2 visa stamps
3. Emails (april 2013 - current)
4. Instant messages(dec2012 - mar2013)
5. Cd Rom containing instant messages (apr2013 - current)
6. Phonebills video calls higlighted (nov2012 - current)
7. 8 photos together ( at temples etc etc )
8. Bank statements (6 months)
9. Account balances x3 (current account, cash isa and E savings)
10. Money transfer reciepts
11. Contract of employment / confirmation of salary
12. Payslips (6month)
13. P60
14. E tickets from 2 previous trips
15. Hotel reciept (march trip) and credit card statement payment for sep trip highlighted
16. Mortgage statement, gas/elec bill, council tax bill

The cover letter is alot like those on this site, stating how we met and how the relationship has developed etc etc.

My plan now is once ae has her bank statements to submit the application, put the printed out form in the folder i have prepared and sent it to her in thailand once she adds her documents to the folder were i have clearly marked haha i will then make her an appointment she will print out her appoint letter and head for bkk. I have stated in my letter that i am planning another trip to see ae next month and am hoping for her to have entry clearence by this time so we can travel back to the uk together so that is the plan and application.

Now the questions

Her bank statements as mentioned above can anybody shine any light on this ?

I know a visa is valid for 6 months and that is what we have asked for on the application. I stated in my letter we would be returning to thailand as a couple so we could spend xmas and new year together in thailand. Do we have more chance of being granted a visa if we ask for 3 month instead of 6 ? I dont want to ask for 3 get it and her overstay what she says on application jepordizing future apps.

I have put her address on the app form as the one on the tabien bahn being submitted. This home is currently being repaired and herself and her family or staying in phichit 40km away due to her fathers work whilst her home is being repaired. I have not put an additional address on the app form as i dont want to complicate the situation just want to keep it as simple as possible i also dont want to put her address as being in phichit when she has no proof of this as they are only renting a room for the time being will this be ok ? Herself and her family are due to move back home in the next month or so as repairs are almost complete, but this is why i am asking about if the visa goes through before she is back home can she collect the docs and passport rather than them be sent to an address she is not currently at.

I appreciate your time and any replys or comments.

Thank you for your time

Hi
just got the dreaded news that our visa was refused on the financial requirements. I run a small plc and a joint director.I am salaried paye and am paid £20,000 pa. .the tax returns were submitted last month and I pay tax on this amount.
Our application was based on my paye salary ( which I am) and the Eco has refused as they require a long list of other documents based on company earnings /tax returns/audited accounts which I did not think was applicable to our case.
we were entirely honest and gave more than requested for the financial side of things.....( companies house certification, bank statements from plc etc )this is why I think we have been refused....we gave too much as we had nothing to hide.
I am about to write to my local MP , which I hope won't be futile, to ask for his assistance.
Please can anybody help us sort this mess out as my wife is in a terrible state.
thanks mbsk.

In this particular case their reviewed decision was conveyed by telephone to our local MP who had been supporting the applicant by dealing with the Embassy direct through Faxes. The initial VV was submitted in February this year, refused in March, and to date the applicant has not received any of the documents back. Your thoughts/comments on this would be appreciated.

hi guys,
looking for some advice regarding my wife's settlement visa refusal....

hi guys,
looking for some advice regarding my wife's settlement visa refusal. The refusal was based on the financial requirement part, everything else was fine according to the refusal letter all we have to concentrate on is the supporting documents to prove myself.
at the time of application i had not completed a year in self employment and therefor didn't have a tax return, although i sent all supporting documents proving my income they have come back and asked for a tax return, that i can now do.
when my wife completes the appeal form given to her along with the refusal letter she going to send it to me and i will put the appeal in to Leicester (the address on the form) is this correct?
Do i have to send any other supporting documents other than what was asked for on the refusal letter?
Any other advice would be very welcome at this stage as it has come as a bit of a shock, never even entered my mind that we would have any probs because we met all the requirements,
Thanks in advance
Also if I show council tax bill it states 25% reduction for single occupant - I could get her to notify them that I now live there and they will re issue bill and I will pay the extra... many thanks

Hello all, I was wondering if it would be a good idea to include a note at the start to some sections of my spouse visa application rather than writing a lengthy introduction letter. For example we had a lot of connection problems with the internet for our Skype calls to start with and as such the log evidence shows lots of short sessions on same date. If so, as it's my wife's application should the notes be written as if from her, so referring to me as 'my husband' ie 'My husbands Skype log', 'My husbands 4th visit photos' many thanks ~ Jay

Hello all, after a bit of general advice if anyone can help please? is it advisable to have thai wedding ceremony with picture evidence before making spouse visa application? We got married 2 weeks ago at Bang Rak Amphur office in Bangkok during my third visit / stay together. I'm planning to go back in 4 weeks or so to have thai wedding and make visa application. By that time we'll have been together for 6 months, we had our previous visit visa application rejected on the grounds they did not believe the relationship was of depth and substance even though I provided lots of evidence. My wife has also changed her name to my surname and were continuing to collect Skype / Hotmail logs. Many thanks ~ Jay

Morning all,

My 2yo daughter has had an AWFUL case of chicken pox. I recently received a letter from the UKBA regarding my wife and daughter registering their biometrics. I emailed them asking for an extension and received the following reply:-

"Good Afternoon

Thank you for your email.
The reason why your daughter cannot enrol their biometrics has again been noted in their case file.

Their enrolment letter will still be valid for use when there are able to give their biometrics. The 15 day requirement only acts as a guideline.
Please enrol you daughter as soon as possible. Please wish your daughter a speedy recovery.

Regards
Appointment Exceptions"

It was a prompt, positive and courteous response, that I can't deny. But the wording, spelling and grammar were so bad that I had to email back to confirm if the extension applied to both my daughter AND my wife!

And so the journey continues :D
