Hi Gary, I have just signed up with Localphone, but still slightly confused how to use it, is there a number I have to call first before the Thailand number, I am with BT, so will I be charged by BT also.
Any help much appreciated.

You will need to go to your account. At the bottom there is a "Add Contact" button. Click on that and you get this screen to add your contact details.

Add the Name you want to use.
Select Thailand from the drop down list.
Insert the Thai phone number.
I select no SMS as you will be charged to tell them the number if you don't. Just come back and look at "your account"
Then click on "Add A New Contact"
You will then get a local number allocated for that contact that you call. You don't call the Thai number.

You dial a number local to you and it connects with the Thai number you want.
Sorry, sent same time as Gaz, but Gary's explanation is far more succinct than mine.
(Good word that for a sunday afternoon in the pub)
Many thanks guys for the quick reply.
Good Luck
Signed up for localphone this morning and not a bad service by any means. Credited my account with £10 by Paypal (always feel safer this way than paying by debit/credit card). Though, with VAT at 20% came to £12. Therefore, 1.2p per minute.
Good clear connection and easy to use with no pin numbers required or automated service.
Deff a good service and easy to add more numbers as and when you want, or to add numbers to call from. Simples!

With localphone, can you download your usage so it shows the Thai number being called. If I changed to this would need to show the phone contact on the visa application. Currently using 18185, but thinking of changing from BT to Sky.
I use localphone when i'm in the car talking to her ladyship on hands free. When i use the landline (BT) I still prefer 18185, i seem to get through quicker and the line always seems clearer to me. Either way both services are good.
Simple answer is yes. This is one of their statements

Agreed, Localphone provide a good service and certainly beneficial for the concise .pdf inventories.

Even if you use Sky Talk and Sky Broadband, don't overlook that there is nothing to stop you using a VoIP service such as voipdiscount.com .
