A friend of mine has a market stall near to BKK, and he is selling fruits. He said that he can earn up to 300,000.00 Thai Baht per month. hmmm

My reply to him was " Are you sure you can earn up to 300,000.00 Thai bahts per month and not 30,000.00 Thai Bahts per month. He said Yes 300,000.00 per month

300,000 Thai Baht is about £ 5,000

Is he pulling my leg or is he telling me the truth?

Is that his turnover? The total amount of cash taken? If it is, the profit will of course be a lot less than that, after expenses such as cost of goods sold, wages, stall rental, are deducted.

I know a few folk who run street stalls in Samui, Bkk and Udon -dealing in all sorts of things and their income is nothing like your pal

*******s, the most I have heard of is 6000 a day profit, it's all 10-15 baht remember, 300,000 no way for a normal fruit stall. Thai's do like to exagerate, maybe you should ask how much tax he is paying!

if his stall is making that much money and i would say highly unlikely imho, then he isn't wise bragging about it if it is is true, and secondly he wouldn't be in business long as the thai mafia would have something to say about it if he was doing that sort of business.

My other half is in LOS at present and apart from painting the house has been harvesting our "lomchai" ? which has made her 1,000THB each day in the local market (North LOS)which she is delighted with and actually so am I as it keeps her busy so I don't believe the OP figures on the basis of what I hear on Markets but perhaps they are selling something else under the counter ?

Well he saids that takes home up to 300,000 Thai Bahts home each month. Not sure whether thats before or after tax.
Anyway. I don't think that he his paying tax.

Stick with that feeling. Just as an estimate, and a fairly generous one at that when it comes to profit margins, he would have to be shifting 2,000 kilos of fruit every day.
