Thousands of foreign students who attended a college in east London could be forced to leave the UK if an immigration tribunal rules that their studies were bogus.

The Cambridge College of Learning was endorsed by the Government, which granted visas for immigrants to study there.

But BBC London revealed in December 2008 that the college had been infiltrated by fraudsters, who were selling diplomas for cash with no actual studying required.

The Home Office later rejected 2,500 visa applications from the college.

It makes any one wonder how many of these bogus students went on to deprive genuinely qualified people from good jobs with their bogus CVs.

And also how many 'accredited' colleges are running scams.
It is reassuring however that the Immigration people are checking them out.

If you knew how the UKBA operate, you wouldn't be so assured. Don't think such places, which have been known about by successive Govts are just about selling/providing fake qualifications - its just a means to an end for many differing reasons and a lucrative money-maker for those that run them.

A college with a hundred subscribed students might just be a room with 2 PC's. You'd be amazed what you qualify for as a student.
