Hi Biffy, if you don't leave the airport, (pass through immigration), then you don't need a visa.
I've just been browsing through the flight options for my next trip to Thailand this May.
The plan is to bring Mrs Tastic back to the UK with me (hate those airport goodbyes!).
I saw a rather tempting flight which landed at London City Airport (very close to my home) which had a two hour stop over in Zurich.
My question is, would she need a visa (Schengen or Swiss transit visa) to do that?
I had a quick look around on't t'interweb but the information wasn't all that clear (at least to me).
Does anyone know?
Thanks,
Biff(oon)

Hi Biffy, if you don't leave the airport, (pass through immigration), then you don't need a visa.
You mean to say those jolly chaps in the City of London (members of those guilds such as the worshipful company of costermongers, cutpurses and safecrackers), have their own private airport - and you can use it? Is there something you're not telling us, Sovereign Grand Inspector General Bifftastic?![]()

It sounds like that doesn't it? In reality, it's nowhere near 'The City' it's in North Woolwich, by the Tate and Lyle sugar factory and about 15 minutes from my house

Some nationalities need visas even just to transit through an airport. However Thais do not, either to transit an airport in "Schengenland", such as Switzerland, or indeed to transit through an airport in the UK.

cant get more dodgier than Thailand Just read the last 20 year history of their dodgy government ministers
This UKBA webpage ..... http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/cu...nsit-airside/# ..... contains the list of countries whose nationals need a visa even to transit the UK airside.
