My wife and I arrived to PHS in one piece and glad to report Thai Airways have the new entertainment system installed, not much different to EVA's but obviously more Thai music and films loaded. Though, plenty of Hollywood films and western music too. The leg room on the A340-600 is extremely limited for us taller persons. Service was excellent for the entire journey.

Never again will I take TG911 (i.e. morning flight from LHR) as just too tired on arrival and had four-hour wait at Swampy for Nok Air to PHS. Really was wiped out by the time we got here.

Anyway, Chinese New Year celebrations going on today and my wife and her family preparing massive amounts of food and the Chinese crackers going off all over the place this morning.

Pretty cool here today by normal standards and the mozzies sedate at the moment.

Off for Mr & Mrs haircuts shortly as 1/5 of the price compared to UK and just as good standard.

Ploy is buying a whole duck and chicken in the market this morning as an offering to her (dead) parents; (although our dog thinks that is just a complete waste of meat).

Don't forget the hot towels, neck massage, nose hair clipping and ear wax removal. Then a cold Archa and some great food. Then you will have arrived.

I went to the new central shopping plaza in PHY a couple of weeks ago, had a big mac there, first one in about a year or so. Good choice of western food available in the supermarket at the end of the plaza, "Tops" , I think.
Anyway, worth a trip if you need to stock up on english grub.

Had a head massage, haircut and fingernails cut, Dan, and feel like a new man.

It was the wife's insistence for the day flight, col, but I've put my foot down and will stay in BKK overnight next time. Though, on the flipside, I woke up fresher this morning than I would have had I got the night flight. You can't odds it.

We will visit Central Plaza this week, Bryn. The wife has had this pencilled in for a while but wasn't finished when we came here last July. And Tops is my favourite supermarket in LOS. It's like the English version of Waitrose. I know, I'm a snob at heart.

Nic, thanks, mate, and already booked the 1915h return to PHS on Saturday 28th, so hope to hear from you and have all day Saturday if you are free.

Anyway, waiting for the new frost-free fridge freezer to turn up in the next hour or two from Tesco's for the in-laws as their twenty-year old fridge is on its last legs, and I know they'll look after it. And I don't want warm Singhas this evening. It's a surprise for them and there's sure to be some happy Thais about this evening.

We took off to Central Plaza yesterday and has bags of space and a huge Robinson's spread over three floors and a decent sized Tops on the ground floor. What with Topland being on it's last legs, is just what PHS needs, for the wife, anyway.

Only about fifteen minute drive from the town centre.
