Excellent news! Well done, I remember when my wife got her visit visa, it's a great feeling!![]()

Guy's
Just like to say a big thanks for the help and advice over the last few months ...
I spoke to Nim on Friday and she has now been granted a Visit Visa for the UK and plans to fly here by Feb 3rd ...
The application wait only took 5 days ... so we are both well chuffed and she is now looking forward and counting down her days till Friday morning when she sets out from Bangkok via Dubai to Birmingham ...
Once again thanks for the advice and views on what to do and detailed information on the road to Visa success ...
Regards
A happy Stu

Congratulations. Some winter woolies and a coat might be in order. Though Thailand can get cold it is not daytime UK cold. Enjoy everyday because everyday is special .

Congrats bud.... Very happy for you.
Couldnt agree more about the help and support this website provides.
Im still very much dependant on it and will be more so in the next few months.
great bunch of people here no doubt about it.
Just like to add my congratulations (and thanks).
Glad to see all worked out for you and you will get to show Nim some of the wonderful sites of the West Midlandshope that won't put her off coming back again
Enjoy her visit.

She's on About booking her flight on Monday for a Friday arrival ... She's thinking its goning to be a 3 - 4 month trip .. Im sure ill find out when i see the ticket she has brought.
She'll be coming a litte earlier than i had panned for by about 3 weeks ... as still sorting the apartment out as currently moving in ...but at least she will be busy sort and arranging that place ... so she wont get board ... and she can go enjoy the head ache of IKEA shopping ...
Everything has certainly happened fast in this last month thats for sure ... but if it wasn't for the members on this Website for the info and assistance .. im pretty sure that we may have screwed up the visa application etc ...
Only thing she has got to worry about now is the transfer part in Dubai ... as it will be her first long haul international flight on her own .. but if she can navigate that place then she will not have to worry to much about arriving into BHX ... as its a nice quiet place compared to Heathrow ..
Cheers for the help guy's
Nothing to worry about in Dubai airport , Your wife will be fine.
First time to UK I would have got a direct flight for her however it sounds like she knows what she's doing if buying her own ticket and presumably can read english?

I try and generally don’t offer advice on visa’s etc. It’s been so long since I have had to relate to the potential minefield and tend to stay out of these posts.
What is nice though is when a member offers his/her thanks for tips and advice when they achieve their goal.
I can remember way back to the dark ages when this used to be a yahoo forum when guys like Paul, Lee, Steve, Gordon and John (amongst others) guided me through the hard times. Things have moved on now but the core is still here and others have added their expertise and knowledge.
Despite an abundance of ‘spoilers’ along the years, the forum offers a really valuable piece of kit for new members.
Well done Stu and spread the word……………………..![]()
Judging others before you have met isn't a wise option.
Dubai is big but its a fairly simple layout. The terminal building is mainly long and straight on two floors and all the gates branch off to the sides. The gates are all clearly marked and well mapped out. Your gf may be asked questions before boarding her connecting flight to the UK in Dubai. When I travelled back with my wife they had a good hard look at her visa and I've seen them stopping quite a few other travellers when entering the gate on previous trips.
