Steve
well done Glosboymy wife submitted on the 24th May.. i hope it only takes 6 weeks too!
well done from me too and wish you all the best![]()
Changes to waiting times ?? , we handed our application in on the 30th of may and yesterday we had the message saying our application is ready for collection . Although in our situation we had spoke to the staff at vfs , and also gave them documentation regarding a family member in the UK being terminally ill and in getting worse by the day .. We asked them if there was anything they could do to speed our application up and they spoke to there seniors and put a mark on our folder , i was still expecting alot longer than this for the application , so i flew back to the UK on thursday morning and when i reached half way point at doha checked my email and saw it was ready for Aom to collect , unbelievablle.
Also i received an email yesterday with the one saying our documents are ready for collection stateing the following . So im not sure if we have just been lucky with the waiting times regarding our situation or they have just put these changes into place .
THAILAND APPLICANTS: your documents can be collected from VFS in 1 working day, if you paid a courier fee your documents will be sent to you.
CAMBODIA APPLICANTS: your documents can be collected from the British Embassy in Phnom Penh in 4 working days.
VIETNAM:
HCMC applicants: documents will be forwarded to you within 6 working days
Hanoi applicants: documents can be collected from the British Embassy in Hanoi in 4 working days, if you paid a postage fee they will be sent to you in 6 working days.
Again thanks to everyone on here for the great help with all my questions .
James & Aom .
James, I don't think you were lucky. I think your application was fast tracked on compassionate grounds.
I hope you get the result you're looking for.
Thanks , yeh i was hopeing it would be processed quickly but never expected it to go through in just over one week although Aom did tell me that the staff in the vfs were extremely helpfull and when she asked them to read a letter i had put in the front of the folder explaining the circumstances in the UK they had no problem with that , the girl at the desk checking the folder went to adress a senior member who came and spoke to Aom and let her know that they would put a marker on it to be looked at asap . So hopefully all went through ok and we have had no problems , Aom will go and pick up the documents on Monday as when the email came through to me i was in Doha halfway home and when she received the txt notification she was on a bus back to her family home in Isaan , the timeing was ironic to say the least , i just hope all is well and good now when she collects her passport .
cheers guys .
Good luck James
Steve
I think it was fast-tracked on compassionate grounds too. I don't think it's likely they've got normal applications down to one week processing just a few weeks after taking 7-9 weeks for everyone. Good luck, James.
Agree sounds like compassionate grounds especially the reference by VFS of a special mark (wonder what the mark is?) but as above good luck James
