Thai Affirmation Documents

Im going to thailand next week to get married and just want to double check what docs I will need. I have my pre prepaired affirmation, obviously my passport and my divorce certificate. Will I need any other documents for any part of the process there?

What I would also add is to consider your wife's future settlement visa application. There are plenty of little tasks you could do on this trip and your wife can continue after you have returned home and this will save a lot of messing about when you return to apply for settlement.

I.e. Translations etc and name changed on official documents and passport if your wife is taking your surname to name a few.

Never took my birth certificate either. Passport, by default, covers it.

Is that a UK-issued Decree Absolute? If it is, do make sure it is a Court-sealed copy of the decree, and not a mere photocopy.

I got divorced in New Zealand about 20 years ago. I have no documentary proof I was divorved and no documentary proof I was married either. I have lived in the UK for last 16 years and as far as I know there is no record of it here either. If I was to marry again (don't panic guys, you know who) would I need to get proof from New Zealand of the divorce as it has been so long.

Your best bet is to fire off an email to the New Zealand Embassy and see where you are, Jimmbo. Don't leave it to chance or the last minute.

As one of the former conquered nations, do they have an embassy? I thought we allowed them to have a High Commission or something like that
