Big apology if it's not make any sense![]()
One of my friend is going to get a divorce with his wife.
They haven't been in touch for over 3 years we have to get a thai police to get her address but what i really want to know is how long do he have to wait after the divorce to re-marry?
thank you
and he doesn't need a pregnancy test either!
Actually If I remember correctly there was a period that a Thai lady could not re-marry after a divorce and I think it had some thing to do with whether she was pregnant or not but that law may well have gone by the book now and there is no problem in re-marrying.
However I do not think that there is a set time that you would have to wait to re-marry Kapook19 after a divorce because I myself was soon married after my divorce to my first Thai lady wife, I am sure it was no more than7/8 months later.
Welcome to the forum by the way.

Yes ... for a guy it can be next day ... for a Thai Lady 9month+ or letter from a doctor confirming that she is not pregnant.
as soon as the ink is dry
Hello Geof
In view of the points that I and CWattana have made could you please back up your simple statement with a clarification of your source of information because clearly your answer is certainly at odds with what is being assumed by CWattana and myself.
I am sure that the OP would like to hear the basis for your simple statement!
once the papers are signed by both parties, everything sorted surely you must be free from the person you were married too.you can marry again with whoever you want
Hello,
I was divorced on the Tuesday and remarried on the Thursday or Friday of the same week with no problems.
Yes ... I got my degree absolute. in the UK, (some 10 years ago now) ... a couple of days later I flew out to Thailand and got married the next day. However my now wife had to have a pregnancy test as she had not been divorced for 9 months.
