Thai Airways First A380 Completes maiden flight

In this month's Airliner World (For Sad People Like Me) Magazine....

Thai Airways' first Airbus A380 completed its maiden flight on 6 March following the completion of its airframe assembly and system tests at the Airbus facility in Toulouse, France.

The aircraft landed in Hamburg, Germany after a four-hour flight. It will now undergo painting and its cabin will be installed, said Thai.
The aircraft entered the final assembly line in Toulouse in November last year.

Thai is scheduled to receive the aircraft in the third quarter of this year. The airline, which has firm orders for six of the aircraft, will become the ninth operator of the A380.
The carrier will operate the aircraft on routes between Bangkok and Europe.

Wolfy Footnote : Don't get too excited Colin, apparently they are going to operate the first one on the BKK - Frankfurt route.

Thai Airways first A380 European destination will be Frankfurt commencing 15th Dec 2012 then Paris.
With only 6 A380 on order looks like London could be later next year.
The first Thai A380 will be used on regional routes Hong Kong and Singapore for the period Oct-Dec 12.

Cheers Wolfy and it was on the TG website too however interesting its flown to Hamburg for painting although it's tail looks already done

Roll on LHR - BKK at some point and no doubt it will need even more TG lady crew on board to deal with the increased passenger numbers

Can't wait to Fly them on Thai.
If Emirates are anything to go by...............The flight was smooth, spacious and easy going.............even in economy.
