New hotel security measure ..

Meant to post this the other week ... Had some friends over from Sweden a few weeks ago ... They were staying in a hotel in Pattaya for a few days before visiting family ... We booked a night at the hotel ... One of our favourites called the Sabai Resort ... When we checked in ... A new thing was done ... Apart from the usual ID requirements ... They took our photo ? They told us this is a new requirement ... Not sure if its just that hotel ... Or throughout Thailand ?

Trev they didn't do that to Nat and I in bkk but did photocopy passports, but they have always dne that same at Jomtien.

They just said it was a new security measure ... Had the normal photocopy of my driving licence done ... To be honest I'm not sure if this just the hotel, Pattaya or Thailand procedure now. Jimmbo's post makes me think it may just be a Pattaya initiative ?
I'm sure shrek48 stayed in this hotel recently ... So will see if he had the same done ?

I reckon they took his photo because he was suspicious looking but made it less obvious by taking a picture of his missus too.

Hotel phoned and said they gave you the wrong one, asked me let you have the right one.
