Yes you will indeed be very lucky with a bid of 100 pounds ! You will need to bid upwards of at least 250 pounds
per sector.

You may be right but how do you know? would always be worth trying your luck...you never know may get an empty flight and they just want some extra cash

When you go through to the 'make an offer' page, you'll see some sliders which will have a minimum start figure. For the J-F upgrade, it started at £380 per sector as the minimum bid, and the maximum was £750. I'd imagine the Y-J option would start around £250. This Etihad 'make us an offer' has been worldwide for some months. Yes you could get lucky with a low bidproviding the minimum start figure is low. Best of luck.

Yes crafty airlines never give much away but have clever marketing depatrments coming up with offers like this (as do some supermarkets with their roulette scheme/scam which was highlighted in the papers recently to see if you win the item for free)

Well my flight for 04/01/13 to 25/01/13 is costing £717.70 and a business class for same is £2614.00 that's a difference of £475.00 ish per leg.
So it looks like you would have to make an offer of about £300? Who Knows

Well my flight for 04/01/13 to 25/01/13 is costing £717.70 and a business class for same is £2614.00 that's a difference of £475.00 ish per leg.

Business Fare £2614 - less the Economy Fare of £717.70 = a fare difference of £1896.30 which equates to a difference per sector of £948.15 - isn't it???

Am I misreading/miscalculating something???
