Default I have not posted for a while but normal service will be resumed

Dear Oh dear it has been a while. What have I been up to? Well not too long ago I was happy working 4 days a week taking home a pitiful salary and leaving my office at 5:31 PM exactly.

I founded a social enterprise. Now working 6 days a week and working late most nights. There is no end to my list of tasks. It is said that most new enterprises are not profitable in their 1st year. We might just be an exception to that rule, we are not out of the woods yet but can see the end of the Forest...... For those of you out there who are self-employed or business owners maximum respect. It is liberating and terrifying at the same time when the buck stops with you and if it all goes wrong you only have to look into the mirror to see the culprit. That said I have no regrets. Mrs Richard B is fine and baby Christopher is thriving.

From a man who was self employed for 26 years. Hard work and long hours certainly.
    The income more than compensated.
Looking back it was the best thing I ever did.
If you have the determination and work at it you have a good chance It will succeed.
    Good luck.

I'm self employed too, have been for much of my life. I wouldn't change it for the world. Glad everything appears to be working out for you Richard.

Quite agree. Working for yourself can be a hard grind and being on your own is not easy, particuarly if you are a 'one man band'. But the rewards (both financial and personal) are yours, which can be very pleasing.

    I wish you luck...

I can be, getting motivated when you're not 'in the mood' can be very difficult at times.

The freedom I do enjoy though

    Thank you .

For creatives especially ( not me exactly ) I have found Mr Dragons Den's ( Doug Richards ) events quite useful.
