Narcissus used to be the one not sure what it's like these days though or even if it still exists.

You mean a club with wall-to-wall freelancers?

"Climax" the pit that is below the Ambassador, or maybe try levels in Suk Soi 11? (Still a good % of girls looking for some "taxi money" )

Anywhere in RCA, or if you have won the lottery Funky Villa (park your Ferrari outside) or Falabella.

    Never heard of half these...but:

I had to Google which one Insomnia was in Pattaya, my knowledge is so old. Looking at the photos on the web site - http://www.clubinsomniagroup.com/ibar/, Climax (and perhaps most places on Sukhumvit Soi 11) would be the equivalent. A lot of freelancers, some pretending to be good girls, etc.

Funky Villa is very different! I wouldn't go there if I liked Insomnia. It's 98% Thai, young affluent Thais. I went there a few times years ago, when I looked a little younger than the avatar on Grahame's photo and I still felt like I was the oldest (and poorest!). The same goes for any place on Thonglor 10 really.

RCA is easier but Sukhumvit Soi 11 is still the equivalent.

    Thanks livingwithathaigirl that's great.

You're quite right as with any club in Patts it's going to be full of freelancers and after 2am go go girls finishing work but I like insomnia for this atmosphere and the DJs

I like the sound of Funky Villa and it's close to where we are staying

I must be getting naive in my old age - I just thought you was after a club with banging house......banging freelancers didn't come into my thoughts....

God, there were some fruit loops around in the GoGo's / Clubs before the clampdown on speed/diet pills in the late 80's / early 90's.

Are you into Thai music? From what I remember (three to four years ago), it was nearly all Thai rock and pop music at Funky Villa, played by a live band. People are in crowded groups around tables, drinking bottles of spirits. There are quite a few Thai rock anthems where people punch their arms in the air. Or maybe I just got invited/dragged there on the nights where it was rock? Who knows.

Narcissus is/was much more farang dance music all the time as are some venues in RCA.

Well it was all good just to let everyone know - we ate at Vientiane Kitchen (good Isan food and live entertainment - had cocktails on the rooftop of Sofitel at L'Appart with great views over the city - then finished the night off at Club Nazz (Narcissus) two great DJs...

Thanks again to everyone for the recommendations

Next time you are in BKK. You can visit the Saxophone Pub neat to the Victory Monument skytrain

Narcissus is a really good spot. One of my Top 5s when I'm in Thailand for sure.
