Default Sponsor obligation for Thai wife

    Hi there,

my Thai wife has left me - we have only been back in the UK for a few months, and most of the time since her return she was staying with friends down south (I am based in Scotland)

Guess what - this is the second time she did this to me. How much of a ❇❇❇❇❇ do you think I feel (although you do not have any idea as to why this happened and why I did it a second time either so please just offer any advice as to my actual question below...)

Am I obliged to inform the UKBA about her deserting me (again) ?

The first time it happened I later found out that she had made domestic abuse allegations (which the court found to be total lies) - not sure what she will try this time.

    kindest

Sorry to hear your news. No judgements here we all do things for one reason or another.

Did you report her last time she left?

As far as I know there is no obligation on you to do so although you may wish too (depending on feelings) so that when/if she comes to the next stage of the visa process (depending on where she is down that line, if at all) they will know if she is trying to "cheat" the system with her answers.

    Hi there,

firstly, many thanks for your kind words.

I did report her the last time actually - some friends urged me to and I did. I actually regret it now. Was unsure whether it was a legal requirement or not, so thought I would ask this time also.

    Kindest

i would say this is the only reason she will get a visa domestic abuse allegations otherwise i dont think she would get one not so sure about your requirements to reporting or not ,but when the time comes for her visa be prepared for a visit from uk border force and a lot of questions

    REALLY!!!
I would not think so at all.
If she attempts to obtain a visa on her own then she will need a lot of info and documents that she will probably not be able to supply if they have split up, so she stumbles when submitting the form so I hardly expect a "visit" is on the cards.
