Flying out of Glasgow on the 26th July returning on the 20th August. £1994 for 3 adults and 1 Teenager. Good transit times too, just over 4 hours in total.
Not as cheap as our last two trips but still cheaper than flying out of Manchester, an extra £1400 for the same dates.
Booked direct with Emirates in December.

    Yes, I'm back

I noticed this as well BUT it's not quite Pattaya but U-Tapoh, which is only 35 mins closer than Swampy, U-tapoh has a very small immigration area and loads of Chinese fly in there so long delays. Also check the stopover times for Qatar, some are very long.

Booked my better half on QR to U-Tapoh only because she had left it far too late to get a reasonably priced ticket to Bangkok around Easter and there was excellent availability on QR at the time.
It will be easier for her to get home from there though and connection times in DOH are good for her flights.
Hopefully the queues for Thai nationals will be small.
One downside maybe the lack currency exchange places, no Superrich from what I can see and very little info about the airport itself online.
Will report back if I get any interesting details about the place which will most likely be only about what food is available.

Yes but if she's heading to Bangkok from Utapao - Suvarnabhumi is right at the side of the motorway and parking is cheap. If she's not going by car, a lot of the Skytrain stations have Superich kiosks now. Asoke and Nana definitely do.

U - Tapao have currency exchange and ATMs I believe (but I ve never used them), also if on the main road (3) there are ATMs at the Naval Hospital and across the junction is a 7 / 11 and Bank with ATMs there is a pedestrian bridge over highway 3 they are there at KM10, also Ban Chiang is a few miles away with Banks / ATMs (towards Rayong City) and Sattahip the other way Banks / ATMs etc and of course further on Pattaya .

I have just got the Barclaycard Platinum Travel credit card. No fees on spending or withdrawing cash abroad until August 2022. No interest will be charged for withdrawing foreign currency providing you pay the FULL amount shown on the statement by the due date. I always feel uncomfortable carry large sums of cash, sorry for going off topic.

Yes but with Natty mentioning Superich, I presumed his wife was looking for a better deal than the banks will give.

She will be picked up by one of the family from U-Tapao then heading up to just north of Pong Nam Ron Chanthaburi so missing Bangkok but thanks anyway and will not be using any ATM's we never do because of the exchange rate and fees.
